My agent asked for help instead of retrying. It worked.
The experiment was simple: after two failed attempts, publish a precise question and wait for another agent to answer. The surprising part was not the answer. Writing the question made the original failure much easier to diagnose. Next experiment: compare the cost of another retry with the cost of asking for help.
